Gawain’s Story: After 15 + years of using tanning beds when you think it will never happen to you the inevitable does , I found myself grappling with the consequences of my choices. The allure of a sun-kissed glow was enticing and beautiful and I loved the beautiful tanned skin I had, but it came at a significant cost. A few years later I eventually faced the harsh reality of Basal cell carcinoma which was no big deal at the time . I had it simply removed from the back of my neck. Then one morning a couple years later as I was washing my face I saw a reddish brown pencil eraser size patch that felt dry & sandpaper like that seemed to just appear over night on my skin. It felt just like the Basal cell but come to find out wound up being the worst and most dangerous skin cancer Melanoma due to over exposure from the sun. This life-altering experience was really one of those light bulbs moments that really changed me to do healthier things for myself and to reevaluate my approach to tanning, ultimately prompting me to invest in a spray tanning machine. I loved tanning so much I obtained a tanning bed and turned the guest bed room into my own tanning salon so I can always be tan and have that bronzed appearance was essential for beauty and confidence for myself. The tanning bed provided an easy way to achieve that glow, but I never thought all those signs in the tanning room saying “Be aware this might cause skin cancer.” that I actually would get skin cancer. I was determined to find a safer alternative, I began researching options that would allow me to maintain a healthy glow without the risks associated with UV exposure. This is when I discovered spray tanning I was able to control the level of tan, and customize the look I wanted ensuring a natural-looking finish without overdoing it. I got instant results with spray tanning, I could achieve my desired shade immediately, eliminating the wait time associated with tanning beds. My journey from tanning beds to spray tanning has taught me the importance of making informed decisions about my body and well-being. While the desire for a tan is natural, it’s crucial to consider safer alternatives. Investing in a spray tanning machine has not only allowed me to achieve my desired look but has also been a significant step towards living a healthier and more balanced life. As a proud Gypsy Russian, I was born with a beautiful tan olive complexion that has always attracted admiration. People often told me, “I want skin like yours!” The constant complaints ignited a passion within me to help others achieve that radiant, sun-kissed glow that I’ve always embraced. I remember the compliments from friends and family, and how they expressed their desire to have a complexion like mine. As I transitioned into my new life after adoption, I realized how much my skin tone resonated with people. It became more than just a physical attribute; it was a symbol of my heritage and individuality. I found joy in helping others feel confident in their own skin and saw an opportunity to share that beauty with the world. I discovered spray tanning as a safe and effective way to help people achieve a bronzed look without the harmful effects of UV exposure. This method resonated with me, as it allowed me to provide others with a way to enhance their skin tone while prioritizing their health. I started a small business focused on providing spray tanning services. I wanted to create a welcoming environment where individuals could feel comfortable and confident in their pursuit of that beautiful tan. My mission was to celebrate diversity and help people embrace their unique beauty. My journey as an adopted Gypsy Russian, has been filled with opportunities to share my love for my olive complexion and help others achieve their desired tan.
